OUR MISSION

To se lost people saved,
saved people freed,
free people discipled,
and discipled people mobilized...

to our NEIGHBORS and the NATIONS!

NEIGHBORS

NATIONS

Who are our neighbors?
Neighbor: a person living near or next door, to be situated next to or very near.

We have defined Parkway’s neighbors as those people in Roanoke, in Virginia, and West Virginia. They have access to the gospel through churches, Christians, media and the Word of God in English. They may be lost, but they are not “unreached”.  Ministry to our neighbors is what we consider “local outreach and evangelism”.

Some of our neighbors have lived without access to the gospel in their countries of origin.  We have an opportunity to love them, no matter where they were born.
Who are the nations?
In the Great Commission, Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations... “nations” is the Greek word ethne which means “people groups”.

Nation: (ethne) the largest ethnic people group within which the gospel can spread as a church planting movement without encountering barriers of understanding (language) or acceptance (culture).

Unreached People Groups (UPGs) are groups of people distinguished by language or culture that are generally less than 2% Christian and lack the resources to evangelize that group. Therefore, “global missions” is advancing the church to where it has not yet reached.
